I was thinking of a name for my soon-to-be-launched project lately. It had to be something really simple, yet creative enough to make a brand. After a few days considering the options I’ve come up with this: Simple Beat. My project will include a part where I design, code, and publish an iPhone game, and I tend to make it as simple and easy to play as possible. I’ll also write music for the app, so here it is: Simple Beat.
A couple of days ago I’ve registered the simplebeat.com domain name, and signed up for hosting and CMS solution at Squarespace. The site is up and running, several posts has been already put up, and I’m working on a custom design now.

Dollar has established a new peak maximum. Now it’s 36.42 RUB! It’s also odd to see, that such rise was a rapid one. The day before it was about 35.60. A 0.8 rise is an unusual event. And the troubles are not over, some people say.
Another sad statistics. Over 300,000 people in Russia lost their jobs in January 2009, officials state. And now the number of unemployed is over 6,000,000 people, which is almost 9% of the Russian workforce. The numbers are supposed to rise to 8,000,000 people by this summer! I’m wondering what all these people are going to do to support themselves and their families…

Here it is, the 50th post on this blog! Nothing special, but the number.
Russia’s financial system is shaking, but non the less not collapsing (yet)! At least, doolar stood back a little, and discontinued to rise. Prices are going up though, too bad.
For the last several days I’m experiencing internet connection difficulties. I’m currently using two methods of getting into the web: WiFi and cellular (EVDO). WiFi is ok, but EVDO is somewhat dizzy. My 3G modem is connecting to the network, the signal is perfect, and… pages won’t load as they should. Sometimes I have to refresh a page two or three times in order to download it!
There is an interesting suggestion on Skylink’s support forum (Skylink is my internet provider), why all of this is happening. They think that the radio signal from some military guys located closely to the cell tower is interfereing with cellular network, and as soon as the army people turn on their equipment near the cell tower of Skylink, the network in this local area including the internet over EVDO is screwed! Could it be that the army is damping the signal on purpose?.. Well…

It’s time to have some rest. Two weeks of New Year’s madness are over.
Today I’m hopping on the train and go to Volgograd, my hometown. Visiting parents for a week or so. May have time to develop a new look and feel for the blog, and finally start the russian language version. Also, may update some of my older projects.
Or just have nothing of that during the time!
