I can’t help but notice that financial crisis is going to be only stronger. Unfortunately.

Russian finansists are predicting 2009 to be the worst as the crisis will hit soon (within months), but they are also optimistic about dollar/ruble ratio. Most think dollar won’t cross the 45 rub-per-dollar mark.

Right now dollar costs 35.41 rubles, and that is pretty high. A week ago this was around 32 rubles, a month ago – 30 rubles, two months back  – 27.5 rubles.

This is a good situation for me, as I’m recieving my second salary in dollars. My pay rose drastically during this time, not to mention, that future rise is predicted. I just hope prices in Russia won’t rise with currency fluctuations.

This will be a joyfull post, I’ll sing praises to WordPress 2.7. Well, please, be patient.

When I started my WordPress based blog just some three months ago, I couldn’t imagine all the joy of working with it! Sometimes (like right now) I am so captured by the feeling of comfort and having all the right tools handy and well-organized, that I want just to type something.

So, when version 2.7 was released my cautios thoughts were not to spoil all the fun. I stood off for about a week or two, reading comments, looking at screenshots, and such. Then I’ve made up my mind, took a deep breath, and installed the new iteration of the WP…

Now, some time later, I can’t imagine the other look and feel for WordPress! It’s become hundreds of times better in every way: simplicity, friendlines, space use, speed and “customability”! I’m totally enjoying every bit of this state-of-art code. Thank you, WordPress team, if upcoming 2.8 is going to be this much better then the 2.7, I may forever be glued to computer screen!

It’s been almost a week without any news whatsoever.

Well, actually, this is not true. I’ve travelled to home town, spent a few days there, had some very pleasent time with my family, Barak Obama is now the president of the United States, dollar continues to rise in Russia, I’ve read (listened to) a wonderfull Ken Follet’s ‘A Dangerous Fortune’ audiobook, my part-time job is prolonged for another half-a-year…

And this last part makes most of the change. I’ve decided to move to the Mac platform, since this opportunity is no longer far away. So, in some rather extensive times ahead I’m planning to weight all the cons and pros, gather more information on availability, pricing, etc…

Right now I’m back home. And thinking of never using trains again, because thas was the most dreadful trip ever in my life. It was very hot inside, but cold wind near the windows got me a headache. Now it hurts less and less, but still, not a nice thing to experience.

As you might have noticed, there is a new WP theme used to visualize my blog. One more theme…

Well, in fact, I like it much better then the previous ones (except, maybe for GreenLight). Some minor corrections to the fonts, and picture representations should be made though. And that would take a few days or so. All and all I’m happy with it now.

My happiness is somewhat dimmed by my poor health this morning. I’ve got up with a headache and a fever… I hope this won’t last long, for I need to hit the road back on Sunday, and would be terrified to go in such condition.
